Changes to login process for library databases

On Wednesday 1 July, Learning, Teaching and Library will make two changes to how you access journals, ebooks and databases:

1. All users will now need to actively login, including on campus.
Previously, for convenience, users on a Lincoln networked computer were automatically granted access. But in recent years, wider networking changes have caused repeated, unpredictable problems with this process. Requiring a login each time will help us make sure students and researchers have reliable access to resources.

2. Users will now login with their email address.
Previously users logged in to library resources with their username – but a growing number of off-campus students don’t know what their username is as it’s not needed for anything else. Using the email address instead will bring this login in line with other Lincoln systems. You’ll still use the same password.

 

For consistency, we’ll also update the Group Study Room booking system to use email addresses instead of usernames.
