Awards Overview

The Lincoln University Learning and Teaching Awards celebrate excellence and innovation in learning and teaching across Te Whare Wānaka o Aoraki Lincoln University. These awards recognise staff who make a meaningful contribution to teaching quality and to the success of tauira, reflecting Lincoln University’s strong commitment to high-quality, student-centred education.

The awards acknowledge exceptional educational practice that is informed by evidence, grounded in reflection, and aligned with the university’s strategic priorities, including the Lincoln University Strategy, Graduate Profile and Learning Model (Whenua ki te Whenua). Through these awards, Lincoln University honours the impact that outstanding educators and teaching teams have on learners, colleagues, disciplines and communities.

Lincoln University Learning and Teaching Awards may be awarded annually to individuals or groups in the following categories:

  • Early Career Learning and Teaching Award
    A single award recognising outstanding learning and teaching practice by staff in the early stages of their academic career.
  • Excellence in Learning and Teaching Award
    A single award recognising sustained excellence, leadership, and impact in learning and teaching that enhances tauira success.
  • Innovation in Learning and Teaching Awards
    Up to four awards available to recognise innovative, student‑centred approaches that respond to identified learning or teaching challenges and enrich learner engagement and outcomes.

How to Apply

The process takes place in two stages:

  1. Nomination – due Friday 11 September 2026 by 5.00 pm. Nominations of individuals or groups must be submitted using the nomination form below. Nominations can be made by staff or by students.
  2. Portfolio submission - due Monday 2 November 2026 by 5.00 pm. Submitted by the nominee as a single pdf file containing the forms below.
