Unveiling the new name for PASS

After a period of consultation with students, we are refocusing the programme to better reflect its purpose and our institutional values and as a result peer-assisted study is being rebranded with a strengthened alignment to key values such as manaakitaka, whanuakataka, katiakitaka, tohatoha and students at the core.

The programme previously known as PASS will be StudySMART from semester 1, 2026.

The programme’s core model and delivery remain the same. Students will continue to receive peer‑led, collaborative learning support, and all existing staffing and course‑based structures will continue as usual.
